It's appropriate if you're good friends, and they HAVEN'T GOTTEN IT YET. Like if they show you a design and say "I'm gonna get this right on my forearm, it's gonna be sick!!" a good friend would say "Don't get that, it looks like shit and you're gonna regret it."
