So I'm going to be moving out of my parents house, sharing a place with a friend.
Aside from some obvious stuff like respecting their space and cleaning your own mess, is there anything someone should know entering their first roommate arrangement?

You are going to learn a lot of things about your friend that you may or may not like. Prepare yourself.
Don't eat other people's food, clean your shit up, don't bring people over without asking your roommate first, don't blast music etc. In general you just need to be conscious of your roommate.

**IMPORTANT** If you're sharing responsibility for paying rent or otherwise sharing expenses, write all of it out in an agreement and all parties must sign and be willing to abide by it! Last thing that you want is to be left hanging on rent and utilities by a freeloading friend!
