1. Go to your bank and get a preapproval. This will be a requirement for most/all real estate agents.
2. Find an Agent. Most banks will connect you with one who they network with.
3. Agent will hold your baby hand from there.

go online and look for real estate agents in your area. tell them what you are looking for and price range and let it happen. if you see any listings in papers, craigslist, etc. go to em.
