Finance or Comp Sci for a Major in College? I don't have enough experience in either fields to know if I truly like one more than the other
>>
I went for finance and I hated it, studying programming on my own now.

OP here, Why did you hate it?
>>
Comp sci for sure. I did econ + comp sci and honestly, I felt so much more challenged but comp sci in all aspects of my education. It was more useful and it was much much harder than any econ I took.

I think comp sci for sure, if I had to pick one, its just such a great major, it shows you can think and its so applicable in today's job market...

Why not both? Comp sci with Econ/Finance minor. Fin Tech and Algorithmic trading is going to take over ~3-5 years if it hasn't already
>>
Hey OP similar position here, I've been doing a lot of research regarding the viability of CS as a major and here's some general responses I'm to regurgitate:

>Jobs will be outsourced!
People have been saying this for decades, hasn't happened yet. Solid companies need solid coders, and Pajeet's code just doesn't hold up

>Oversaturated
By who? Loosers. Not like you, OP. People that get into it because they "like video games", or just "want money" and hopped on the train. Differentiate yourself by getting real skills and developing a solid portfolio (Github projects, coding bootcamps (having GOOGLE anywhere on your resume is HUGE, even if you didn't work for them and just went to a boot camp)

GF is coming and I'm supposed to be doing hw so bye

I'd say Comp Sci because Finance is a bloated beast full of Chads who have no idea what to do other than "Go to College, get a good job".
Finance is the catchall for people who can pass classes but really don't belong in university.

But it ultimately comes down to who you are.
Do you like computer science?
Do you like logic and problem solving?

Do you like finance instead?

Take what you want. If you want something, you'll be better than those who are just there for a degree.

To find out, study stats and deductive logic on your own.
It'll only take a few weeks to get the basics down, but you'll know quick which one is more appealing than the other
