I thought the same and have 1 friend who is a possibility and he wants to move near me. I havnt brought it up with him cause hes a friend and want to make sure he isnt going to be a mess. He couldnt be worse than my family though.

I know that you are probably decided already, but try to cope with mom and bro. At the end of the day, they are your family anyway. Getting that thick skin mindset and saving up the money is imo better than having to deal with landlord/roomies and pay for A LOT of shit you wouldnt have to otherwize

I wonder about that thickskin mindset you speak of because Ive had it for so long. I'm 25 now, Never moved out before. Ive tried for years to cope and not only that but i've tried everything. My bro gets worse and I cant believe he can get worse. The household we live in needs to be sold and we each need to sustain ourselves in another way. its too big for 3 of us and we are just abusing my moms money and despising eachother. I plan to visit them weekly maybe twice a week, but I cannot live with them. they are holding me back and damage just adds up over time.

Op here. I did text my friend who was going to move here and was going to look for a roommate anyway.
I'm 50% sure I will do it. I'm scared, but know itd be the healthiest thing to do. I didnt come up with the idea because of the convenience of a friend. I started speaking my mind and realize how fragile things are that I simply have no say.
