I will be buying pillows for the first time later today. I need advice on picking out pillows. Are 50$ pillows twice as good as 25$ pillows? Are any pillows worth seeking out or avoiding? Anything I should know? I intend to shop at bed bath and beyond but could go to Walmart if Bbb only has overpriced pillows. Pic unrelated.

Start mid priced at walmart and see how you like them. Has always worked for me, but if you don't like you can try something else and not be out too many $. Can really only figure out through trial and error since a very personal preference. For example, I personally love a soft lumpy pillow, some people hate them. Good sheets/pillow cases just as important for comfort.

There are pillows for different sleeping styles. Do you sleep on your side, stomach, back? Do you like soft, mid or firm pillows? Price has more to do with the material they use in the pillows.

25 to 50 dollar pillows will have little difference in quality. Try buying 2 $25 pillows with different fillings and pillowcases. This is basically how I found my perfect pilllow

One that you did not like is now pillow for a guest!

do not buy expensive memory foam pillow imo. if you buy that shit get shredded foam instead

No. Buy what is comfy. But a zippered dust mite moisture portector on. And replace them yearly.

I replace all my bedding every year.

Mid range pillows are probably your best bet, as the quality improves on a non linear scale. A £30 pillow will be several orders of magnitude bett then a £10 one. Between a £30 one and a £50 one there is only a small difference - it's better, but not £20 worth of better. Anything above £50 is getting in to "oxygen free pure silver HDMI cable" territory. What you're getting there is a £30 pillow that they spent £40 on marketing and are selling for £100. It's just a tool used for seperating idiots from their money.

Thanks for the advice

avoid down pillows. feathers penetrate the pillow sheet and sting your head and face, also unethical and expensive
