What tense is this? It sounds like present perfect but there is no past participle or -ing verb. It's driving me crazy.

It should be simple past.

"do" is irregular. You don't say "doed" you say "did." "Didn't" is a contraction of "did not."

Positive form ends in -ed if the verb is not irregular.
Negative form of simple past uses did not/didn't + verb in infinitive form (I'm not even sure it is called like that, lol).
