Bare with me because this scenario has some fucking twists and turns. There is no tl;dr that does this justice, and if you're going with "who cares" as your position then remember that nobody has a gun to your head to force you to participate.
Green text makes parts of this more easily understood, but I'm going to have to break with green text in parts.

>Says that she's about to start work on her Masters degree and just finished her bachelors at a different college

>Decide to look her up online
>Turns out she was lying... about a LOT
>She has no real social media profiles
>BUT there is a youtube video putting her at MY college back when I was there during the semester, putting her age at more like 25 since she was a freshman where I was a freshman when I was a freshman

There's more weirdness afoot, as apparently friends of mine were friends with her friends back then. A social media post mentions her by name, and she is discussed in the comments as having been a ghost. But here is the weird part: it would have been during my senior year at college, and she's discussed as not having been in the area for some time, which seems to indicate that she had fallen into a black hole as far as her friends were concerned. I repeat, for a period of about two years she was pretty much missing.

>She has passed multiple background checks for employment purposes, so she must never have been convicted of anything criminal
>Indicates to me that she used to have trouble relating to the opposite sex without flirting
>Indicates that she was the wild child as the oldest sibling
>Claims to have spent a semester abroad to find herself
So I have a few hypothesis
1. She ran off with some dude who was an asshole and eventually came back. Doesn't quite explain the shame though.
2. She was a stripper or something to that effect and ran off to do that. Explains why she'd be scared of someone tracking her down from those days, maybe she did porn.
3. She went into a drug black hole, but that doesn't explain the lack of social media.
4. Maybe she just fucked up at school, but that doesn't explain the social media blackout or the seeming shame.
So of my four hypotheses the sex worker one holds the most water. What do you think?

So you want to know about her past without asking her about her past so you won't be shocked if it's shocking.

This doesn't make any sense. Plus, lots of people have stuff that happens that they're not necessarily happy about or want to share. I went through a long period of being in a social black hole due to having no money and living in a small town. Shit happens. The fact that you're investigating it on the side instead of trying to ask her to tell you is shadier than her past. You're being weird.
It's fascinating that other people even take such a stalky interest in the lives of those around them.

Trust is the most important thing in a relationship and she's already broken it. You need to turn off Stalker Mode too. All this shit is pretty creepy and borderline psycho shit. If it turns out she's not lying to you then you've broken the trust aspect of a relationship because you did all this stalker shit thinking she lied to.
Advice: Leave it alone. Drop her and find someone else. There is no; try an make it work with her because you've already crossed so many lines by going this far into the deep end trying to dissect her past.
