How do you not be weird?

I was talking with a friend and he told me that I am just a weird person to talk to, that a lot of the stuff I say comes out of the left field. How do I not be weird? It hurt to hear that from someone I really look up to. I had a suspicion something was wrong with me, and he telling me this makes me believe it.

How do I be normal? And interact with people on a good level?

Do you maybe have an example of something "weird" you say? Maybe your friend is just a prude.

I'll just say really left field stuff. Kind of like Yuko, pic related, if you've seen Nichijou.

Let's just assume he's right. How do I become more of a normal person? I'm always afraid somethign is wrong with me, that people don't like me because of the way I look and act. Just the way I am.

Be cool being who you are, maybe further down the line you can change a thing or two about you, but don't make it your goal to suddenly change yourself just because of the opinion of others, itll fuck you up.

First of all, what's wrong with being weird? One man's weird is another man's brilliant.

But if you are absolutely determined to suppress all your individuality and personality, just listen to what other people talk about, and only talk about those things, never disagreeing with their limited knowledge and range of opinions.

You will soon become as boring and identity-less as you could wish.

this is not practical advice. this is a denial that there could be an interpersonal issue, wrapped up in a persecution complex.

In mah experience, weirdness has more to do with interpersonal troubles than actually being weird.

Things like timing, relevant contribution, personal space, and especially situational awareness.

Addressing any of these things have nothing to do with changing the core make-up of who you are, despite what some others may suggest here.

we're going to need more info about your so-called weirdness, however, to get more specific with suggestions.

Weird in a bad way means you're probably creeping people out or being annoying. Chances are if you see your weirdness as detrimental then perhaps read these two articles.
