I feel like I don't have a chance with skinny girls. I'm not obese, just a little chubby. I went to the gym for a year and a half, I wasn't ripped but was still doing fine. Now I've been lazy as fuck for six months, having a lazy and chubby GF didn't help much. We broke up a week ago, I'll be starting gym again in a few days. Still, whenever I see a girl who isn't at least as chubby as me, I can't shake off the feeling that I can't stand a chance. I'm not ugly, I'd say a 7/10 and I can talk with everyone just fine. Not shy, not awkward. I just feel I can't date out of my "league". What do?

You don't need to go to the gym to lose fat, just to build muscle.
If you're "just a little chubby" you can probably trim down to an acceptable weight in under a month.

See, if you tell him the way I said, then you can say pretty much anything he suggests is more of a date than just being friends. You can suggest to hang out with friends + him if you want to make sure there isn't blowback.
