I started talking to this guy (who is attractive yes) but we're pretty much just friends because of certian circumstances. He makes subtle hints that he also finds me attractive as well. However, when we were talking yesterday, I said that I had never watched any of the original star wars (which he really likes) and then he said:

And I haven't heard from him for almost 24hrs. He is a final year med student as well so I can understand that he's busy, but is he actually being serious?

Imagine you have a favorite movie of some kind. One that has influenced you through your entire life. This movie is so incredibly famous, that people in countries without a proper translation buy figurines of the characters in that story.
Now you have a decent friend who you wouldn't mind having sex with, who claims to have not seem the movie. You know they have been exposed to it, so at some level you know they actively chose not to watch said movie. This is indicative of a lot of other personality traits that are not compatible with you.
Yeah, you jokingly play it off with an overreaction, but at some level, you care a little less about that person.
Solution? msg him that you seriously haven't seem the movies. If you want his dick, then say you would like someone to set up a screening, so you can see what all the fuss is about.

It is 99.99% likely that he is joking. It is 99.99% certain that your best move would be to ask him to watch the movies with you. Don't apologize, don't be defensive, just tease him in the same way he teased you. And be open about your feelings. Say something like this:
