Guess I'm a "shy" guy, and if we're going to psychoanalyze this it's likely because i spend my entire childhood being rejected, shunned, disliked, and isolated, and never received any affection from my parents until after i left for college. I was told my entire life that i'm annoying, i bother people, i have no friends, nobody likes me, no girl would ever date me, that i'll die alone, etc. Eventually I stopped talking to people: since nobody ever came up to talk to me, i accepted that this is all true.

Though frankly, the fact that so many girls are shy shocks me too. Few had it drilled into them for 20 years that they're worthless and unwanted, and most (like OP) even get active interest from the opposite sex.

If you undersatnd this, what have you done to change your shyness around? through highschool i went from Confident to Anti social/rarely talks to girls in 5 years.
