It just happens with time. You're depressed for a while, this is the time to watch your favourite shows, cuddle your pets a lot, let your parents know you're down so they can spoil you with love and attention. Go for lots of walks in the fresh air during this time, it'll help you think rationally since your brain will be producing a lot of healthy shit for your body while exercising but it's not actually taxing or physically draining.

Then you start to feel a bit better, this is when you need to socialise with your friends like their is no tomorrow, seriously go out as often as possible and if you have the chance to talk to someone who you could potentially be interested in, do it.
