Is dating your half-sister as bad as dating your full sister?
>>
Pretty much, yeah
>>
No, it's only half as bad.
>>
>>17013459
There's a book called The better angels of our nature.

In it he goes over topics of incest, etc, and he makes it clear that when people say it is wrong, when pressed for reasons why, they revert to begging the question with "it just is".

Decide for yourself. Don't have kids, or get abortions if you get her pregnant.
>>
same father or same mother?

if you have the same mother, you'd make mutant babies. but if only the same father, it's cool
>>
>>17013535
This. Incest is really only as "bad" as homosexuality or dating someone with an heritable disease.

You're not wrong.

>when people say it is wrong, when pressed for reasons why, they revert to begging the question with "it just is".

What's his source on this? This could be anecdotal evidence.

It's about genetics. Your kids will be born disabled, mutated or retarded.
>>
>>17013641
Exactly. People who carry a recessive disorder do too. Homosexual people can't even make children at all. Yet it's now perfectly socially acceptable for these people to date and have relationships because they are consenting adults, and relationships now don't have to mean making children.

It's the exact same for incest.
>>
>>17013676
Oh also, not to mention women over 30 and men over 40. And relationships with large age gaps. They also have a much greater chance of there being birth defects or infertility.
>>
>>17013641
>What's his source on this? This could be anecdotal evidence.

Whats his source on reductive, non-sequitor, statements of moral which do not rely on evidence?

Prove to me a tea cup isn't spinning around the sun between the sun and the earth.

People claim things are wrong. People used to claim sex outside marriage was wrong/immoral, because god said so, or possibly because of pregnancy.

Want to go back to no-sex-outside-marriage because the majority 100 years ago thought it immoral?

>It's about genetics. Your kids will be born disabled, mutated or retarded.

Normal people also can have this problem. Therefore sex in general is immoral because anyone can bear mutated puss-for-brains human carrots.

>tfw live a life where you're sexually attractsd to your religious cousin

Mother's DNA goes into her children.
Father's doesn't exactly.

Full brother and sister, both have mother's DNA. Half brother and sister with same mother, both have mother's DNA.
If these two make a baby. it is so similar to it's mother the body treats it as part of itself, rather than a baby. miscarries, or mutates.

Half brother and sister with different mothers, do not have same DNA.

Male DNA evolves. Mother's DNA does not, and is passed on.
>>
Ask your parents. That should give you a pretty good idea if it's bad to date your half-sister.

What even
>>
>>17013819
23 from your mother are identical to your mother's
23 from your father are not identical to your father's, nor to any sibling

The male evolves the species.

Both male and females undergo the same DNA replication and the same chromosomal recombination during meiosis when creating sperm or eggs. Neither of them are more or less different.
Children are 50% related to each parent.

It's true that moms give all the mtDNA to the children, but that's an tiny part of the genome, too insignificant to effect anything in terms of half-sibling relatedness and inbreeding.

Hermann Joseph Muller, in 1932 noted a similarity between asexual recombination, and incestuous. which differ from non-incestuous sexual recombination, or normal reproduction.

Champion race horses frequently impregnate their own daughters, but the mother and son pairing is not viable.

What? What does this have to do with somehow males passing on more unique DNA to their children than mothers, or mothers passing on more DNA than fathers?

>Champion race horses frequently impregnate their own daughters, but the mother and son pairing is not viable.
Yes they are. You can breed both mother and son and father and daughter within horses.

>when creating sperm or eggs

eggs created all at once, no difference 12 years old to 30 years old

sperm created billions daily, constantly changing throughout lifetime
>>
>>17014041
>constantly changing
Nope. Even though sperm are created daily and eggs are created all at once, they all undergo the same DNA replication and the same crossing over in the same meiosis process. They all have the same chance for variation and all pass on 50% of your DNA to your child.

Entities undergoing uniparental inheritance and with little to no recombination may be expected to be subject to Muller's ratchet, the inexorable accumulation of deleterious mutations until functionality is lost.
>>
>>17014065
Yes and? How do asexual species have anything to do with the claim that 23 from your mother are identical to your mother's
23 from your father are not identical to your father's, nor to any sibling?
>>
>>17014080
Cuz shut up.
>>
>>17013459
That depends. What's your full sister like?
>>
>>17013759
First off you're deffinetly someone who's only relationships is with their cousins.

Second off, just cus its possible for normal people to get genetic malfuctions doesn't mean that its ok for family members who will pretty much GUARANTEE they are going to come out retarded with a cleft foot.

Its weak genetics and its fucking disgusting.

>what the fuck are you talking about a teacup you inbred retard

As long as you use the correct bathroom, everything is ok.
>>
>>17014080
Becuase asexual creatures dont have 23 chromosomes because then not fucking humans and they don't apply too fucking humans

>btw asexual creatures can have mutations you fool

No.
It's worse.

People say shit.
Just do whatever you want. You already know that it's something taboo, and pretty much everyone will see this as "inhuman" or "perverting".

You decide for yourself if it's worth or not. You can always live away from people who know you.

>About kids
People don't seem to know what they're talking about. Having kids with a next-kin is more dangerous than with non-related.
But it *doesn't* mean you'll get retarded children for sure. It's just a higher probability.
Probability is not the sure, that's why it's called probability.

Anyway you weren't asking for that in the 1st place.

TL;DR: people won't like that, unless you live with people who don't give a shit about others behaviour.
But it's your life. Live for yourself not for others.
