For me personally, it was the last nail in the coffin of my social life. I at least maintained some contact with my friends before getting into them. I was still able to hold a conversation with people before them. But after several years of being a recluse, (mainly do to computers) my communication skills and eyesight have gone directly down the shitter. Don't get me wrong, they're great technology, but as you should know from using them, highly addictive in a great number of ways.
