So i have a bunch of masses growing in a different parts of my neck, face and testicles. Most are small, hard, and immovable. Only one is fairly large, also hard and immovable. I've had an ultrasound to check my testicles because of the pain i've been having down there, and my doctor said there's nothing to worry about after she reviewed the results. Anyways, i've been finding new lumps in my neck and i've brought them to her attention, but she basically brushes them off and says they are just cysts, although to me they feel more like tumors to me, because cysts should be soft and movable. The only symptoms i've been having is the discomfort caused by laying down on my neck, nothing else yet. What should i do? Should i just believe my doctor and calm down, or should i go to a different doctor?

you ahve nothing to lose except for a co pay by getting a second opinion anon. even if they are cysts, they soudn like htey are something that needs to be dealt with. how does she believe these cysts were developed?

I've found, through my own experiences, that doctors are weirdly dismissive of issues like this. They'll treat the symptoms but often they don't even want to talk about the root cause, or how to prevent.

I would get a second opinion. That sounds pretty serious to be honest.

Skip the general practitioner, go see a dermatologist ASAP for a second opinion

You do NOT know what a mass is until it has been biopsied

Many masses look & act similar until viewed under a microscope.
Then a proper prognoses and treatment can be given.
As someone who works in the field of skin cancer, it never suprises me to hear a patient say, "well I told my family physician about it, & they told me it was nothing to worry about 10 years ago."

Family practice Dr's don't find skin cancers, because they don't look for them.

But assuming you're under 40 and don't have a genetic disorder, you probably are ok, but spend a few buck a know your ok

It doesn't hurt to get a second opinion. If you have to ask an Indian fingernail growing board if you should trust your doctor, then you should get a second opinion.

Pretty much this, except you need to see an oncologist instead of a dermatologist. Derm is a waste of time because it sounds like these growths are under the skin from what you've said. GP's are conditioned to brush off patient concerns because every soccer mom with wifi webmd's her symptoms and comes in insisting she has both aids and cancer. Plus after 40 years of general practice and diagnosing diabetes, minor ailments, making referrals, and wiping runny noses, doctors tend to forget the stuff they learned in med school. If an ultrasound is all they did before dismissing you, they should have their license revoked for malpractice.

When yoususpect something like this, ALWAYS get a secobd opinon. Even if you are strongly confident that the first opinion is correct, get a second opinion anyway. This is not about trust: you've just got to make sure.

Echoing these, OP. Go get a second opinion from a specialist.

We have to be our own advocates. Even a great dr can't know those gut instincts that have brought us in. When I'm dismissed by a dr, I know that person isn't who I should be seeing. You should have a comfortable feeling that the dr has listened, looked, and is sure. Then you should still get a 2nd opinion.

They're probably lipomas which are fatty tumors. They're not serious but can be bothersome. A dermatologist will remove them for you.

Stopped reading. Get a second opinion and a new doctor. Preferrably male -- NOT Indian.

Not OP but this makes me concerned about a mole on my thigh that appeared several years ago. Doctor said as long as it doesn't change (color, shape, etc.) it should be of no concern. Now I'm starring to think I should have a specialist look at it.
