I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering from depression. So am I. But that's why I can tell you that although I understand the appeal, "being left in peace" is pretty much the opposite of what you need.

I don't know, I'm horribly depressed and I love being alone. I don't feel the necessity to act like everything is okay, I don't feel like I need to pretend to be happy.
Anyway, OP - you could be like me and move far away and just live by yourself. Talk to family through text occasionally just so they know you're alive, etc..
