I'm not racist personally, yet I can't stop myself from judging every person I meet almost immediately by it. I don't remember how it's developed, but now whenever I'm in a public area and I have nothing in particular to think about, my mind automatically switches to making assumptions based on race. I've stopped going to places like /pol/ or /int/ which would reinforce those thoughts, but these have stuck around and are very difficult to shake off.
Any advice on how to get rid of this? Is it a meditation-type thing?
I've never really heard of this problem come up for a lot of people, so if you're having trouble envisioning it, it's sort of similar to playing The Game.

Does what /pol/ say have some truth to it? Sure. But the matter of the fact is that they're really only making fun of a small amount of people within a larger population. To break free of a shitty mental image of a particular race it's usually best to meet with and talk to people of other nationalities, travel, and consume media that gives an honest account of these other peoples' lives and mentalities. The thing about stereotypes is that they always have truth to them, but every individual will often only possess a short list of these traits set out by the stereotype. It is very rare when you meet someone that fits fully into the stereotype for their particular race/group/nationality.

The two are different. I don't believe that any race is genetically superior to another, or look down on anyone for the color of their skin. While there has been racism in the past towards Asian-Americans, it was on a MUCH smaller scale from African-Americans. The worst they got was The Chinese Exclusion Act, Alien Land Law, internment of Japanese in WWII, and common stereotypes.
