I'm 21 and just got a girlfriend last year. I dated a few girls when I was in high school, but I never had much of a relationship with any of them.
Anyway, me and this girl dated for 6 months, and then broke up. We definitely had some problems (she was controlling, I bottled things up, etc.), but for the most part, we were good. I just didn't feel happy with her and didn't see myself wanting to be with her. She felt the opposite, and was absolutely devastated. She wanted us to spend the rest of her life with me, and I feel like a piece of shit for it.
I've whined before about how I want to be with someone so bad, and now, the first one that actually accepts me, I drop. I said we had problems, and we did, but we recognized them and tried to work at them. Also, I was able to get along with her well, and we had great times together. She's a good person. I still don't fully understand why, but I just didn't want to spend the rest of my life with her. Is it bad that I want to be with somebody else, even though she was still a great person?
