Hi /adv/,
I am really interested in Industrial Design. I am a currently working as a Mechanical Design Engineer. I plan to do my post-graduation in Product design. Could someone advise me on how to go ahead with it? How do I get better at it and what colleges offer the best courses.

From hanging around a bunch of industrial guys in the same studio for a couple months from being digital/graphic designer i can say a few vague things i found from talking and hanging around them. Start getting good at drawing perspective with shapes. This one guy had a bunch of boxs all around his room he used to draw from. Understand form and function. I guess you know some of that from being a Mechanical Design Engineer but it's how it's designed for how people use it and looks. Practice 3D modeling and get used to actually building things together with whatever material is suitable for whatever your making. I dont know whats involved with being Mechanical but it should flow into industrial nicely. My guess it's more how it's more design work than mechanically engineering.
