Am I lesbian, asexual, anxious, or guilty? I'm 28, and have never had a relationship. I feel panic every time I try to date someone. I usually end it after a couple dates and feel immediate relief. I can't tell if it's because I don't actually like men, or if it's something else.
Romance in fiction is nice, but not in real life. I was brought up in a way that made me think sex is shameful. That changed after I turned 18, but maybe it was too late. I've only had a crush twice in my life. All the other times, even if the guy is attractive and charming, I feel insincere about saying I like him. I'm not interested in porn. I'm definitely more comfortable around girls and could imagine spending my life with one, but don't feel any butterflies for them. All of this is while feeling very anxious around people in general.

You have comfortability issues. It's OK been there. Wouldn't let my partner touch me let alone hold me or near me until a year cause it was a lot of self issues. I felt paniced always. But cause I needed to get past certain thinking and that it isn't wrong to like the idea of sex and in general being comfortable in anrelationship. It seems like you need to understand you and your shutting things because you want to get to know what you want first. Again what is it that makes you uncomfortable cause it feels it's more insecurity of a relationship that crosses your boarder of comfort. Again I don't know you personally OP but trying to narrow corners to narrow it.
Hrm, tough one. I'd say you might be straight then. You just could be very mentally reluctant about relationships which is perfectly understandable. Just take it easy, and try and be calm with a person.

I was the same way. I spent all of my time online and in my head and I started thinking I might be a lesbian because I don't find guys attractive that other girls do. Then I left the house and learned that just because I don't list after every guy I see, that doesn't make me gay.
I'm now happily married to a wonderful man.

Glad to help any way I can, I hope you find the answers you're looking for. I guess a general piece of advice is not to let other peoples' expectations shape your life - yes, there's the general idea that boyfriend>husband>children is "good," but that isn't everyone's path to happiness. I find it can be freeing to stop thinking of your future in an abstract sense, and just take things one step at a time. Focus on the people in your life, make new friends, and just let those relationships develop naturally.
