There's a girl I met a while ago and we had a brief fling going on but I wasn't sure of what I wanted and I really wasn't sure of what she wanted so I stopped talking to her after pretty blatantly rejecting her (due to my own insecurities). She fell hard for my best friend and seeing her fawn over him made me feel like I'm a worse version of him. He ended up rejecting her but they still talk to this day (probably because she still is very attracted to him)
She and I will be in the same intern program this summer and I've been weighing it over in my mind if I should sit her down and explain all my feels from that time. I'm not looking to be with her, I've seen way too much of her bad side to accept that kind of behavior but I've been beating myself up about it because I felt like I dropped the ball with a girl that I really liked and more importantly liked me back

OP, she probably doesn't feel the same way about you and that's fine. Tell her your feels because it means you can bury them. You have to also accept that once you do, your relationship with her is over.
I've actually done this before and yes it stung like hell when she said she didn't feel the same way but I'm glad I did it.
