Out-of-orientation attractioms happen sometimes. Kinsey believed that most people, straight or gay, experience at least one or two over the course of their lives (bisexuals may also experience some that work by the same mechanisms, but it would be harder to tell for sure).

So yeah, you can date them. It would be courteous to let them know that this is unusual for you, but that's the only real difference.
