Does online dating work? Can I find me a nice gf that way? I don't do any other social media but since getting a job I've gotten better at containing my spaghetti. What are some good sites that aren't scams (assuming there are any?) No tinder shit, I want an actual relationship. I'm fine with ugly, boring or chubby, just not grossly obese or airheaded.

Not sure about dating sites but yeah, you can find cool girls online. It's really dependent on where you look.
I met someone who became my best friend through a fucking MMO game of all places awhile back. We ended up meeting up since she only lived a few hours away and after high school, she moved here and we dated for 4 years. She was cool and I thought she was pretty hot.

Still, that's a good site to get a general idea of the kinds of things a person is into, and try to start from there.
okcupid seems to be a more or less representative slice of the population
OTOH keep in mind if you're having trouble getting dates IRL you're gonna have trouble online too.
Next question, what the fuck am I supposed to put here? My actual best friend would probably say something about my expert knowledge of low level computer protocols and kernel data structures, but I don't think that would appeal to the ladies. I don't want to give the false impression of being a well adjusted member of society but I also don't want to scare them off unnecessarily.
