Depends- I wouldn't do either of the polar extremes (short but hot) or (ugly but tall).
Being either shorter than me or ugly is usually an automatic disqualification.
But I'd rather have an average height guy who is hot than a tall guy with average looks.
By "average height" I mean anywhere from 5'9" to 6'0".
Anything less than that and I'd rather go with the tall guy with average looks

What no one ever mentions though, is the key fact hat the SAMPLE GROUP IS OF OK CUPID USERS. That is who the survey is based off of- desperate neckbeard sank have no idea how to approach women irl being rated by a bunch of entitled single moms.
Such a study is not a realistic indication of how most women would rate men. The men on ok Cupid are commonly unattractive or poorly socialized- otherwise they would not be forced to do online dating. It makes sense that "80%" of them are "below average".

I know this kind of goes against the idea of what an "average" is but think of what 20% is. That's 1 in 5. Go to the grocery store for example and actually look at some of those dudes. Seems about right to me. Likewise, unless you meet multiple unattractive qualities (bald, fat, old, ugly, etc.) you're probably at least a part of that 1 in 5, the "average." Now, all you need to do is try.
