Recent times I found that I enjoy using my hands when doing work. Examples: working with wood, locksmiths and etc.
The problem is: there isn't a carreer and a great salary for manual work.
Or there is it?
Pic really not related

Carpentry/handyman work with a CC degree. Pretty sure it pays well, but even if it didn't, money isn't everything if it's something you like.

Any kind of technician; ie mechanical, electrical, automotive, etc.

You don't even need a degree in some cases. You just need certifications, and in some you just need experience. It helps with electrical and more advanced things to get a proper education as it's slightly more technical.

I'm a mechanical technician for oilfield measuring equipment. I only have an Associates of Science degree. I currently only make $40K/year but in a few years when things pick up I should be around $60K/year.

Apparently you've never heard of being an electrician, plumber, or HVAC tech. Hell, all of the trades are great if you learn how to do it well and want to go into business for yourself. Those three are very lucrative trades that all require hands-on work with a little brainpower, especially if you want to start contracting.

However like I said, I know plenty of people who have more money than me contracting out houses and other random projects. Some of them never even graduated high school or received a GED. The problem is our generation (I'm assuming you're 18-28) hates hard work, any kind of effort besides instant gratification isn't worth it. The trades are hard work, with long hours, and very little glory, just a fair warning.

Then don't go to college?

Look into being an electrician or carpenter. Your country will have its own regulating body, go ask them what to do. It'll be an apprenticeship or certification course.

What's wrong?

OP's at the half-way point to finding his happiest purpose in life. You know that you love to work with your hands, but your incorrect assumption is that you need to be wealthy in order to enjoy doing it.

Payment is your true motivation - not happiness. Not satisfaction in life.

You must allow your life to form around the money you earn from doing your passion. Not the other way around.

Don't be a sell out, OP. Passion doesn't always equal wealth. Your true wealth is from the happiness that your passion gives you when you give yourself permission to follow it.

>>

depends on your definition of great salary. everyone acts like they need to go and get 100k a year just to survive, but you really dont. if you do something you like and have a little money for hobbies and savings, you will life a great life.
