should I be offended this? the girl I'm seeing is taking a course heavy on physics. I'm not very good with math, but I usually help her study with other classes. Today, she's gonna study for that physics class, so I said I would offer to help, but I'm useless with physics. She replied with "I know." I'm not one to be easily offended, but if someone said what I said I would probably reply with "it's okay, thank you, though." I don't want to be offended by this because it seems stupid but I can't help but feel a certain type of way about it.

I know that's the truth. That's not what's bothering me. What's bothering me is her response to it. Kind of seems like she's unappreciative that I'm willing to help. In my mind, I was imagining her thinking "yeah, I know you're stupid, it's whatever."

That's really pretty mild. I mean, the tone of voice makes or breaks a statement. A request to pass the coffee can be unacceptable depending on how icily you say it. But if she didn't say it in a deliberately cruel or condescending tone it's really pretty mild.
