Just pick something common from your parent's generation. It ensures you won't have something you'll regret, leading to a cycle of changing your name over and over and over because your name has become meaningless to you, as well as being something your bosses won't think is strange.

I don't think Hanns is too strange of a name. It's german and I'm not entirely german but it's unique enough and people irl call me Hanni already.
