Laptop 1
>Intel Core i7-6700HQ
>Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M
>12GB RAM
>Windows 8
Laptop 2
>AMD A10-8700P
>AMD Radeon R9 M380
>8GB RAM
>Windows 10
I am not a computer expert but laptop 1 seems to have a better cpu/memory while laptop 2 has a better gpu and is running windows 10 which is my preferred OS of the two.
For the same price which would be a better buy for gaming purposes?

this. OP take notes
Laptop 1! Intel is pricey but is known as an industry leader as AMD has struggled to compete over the past three years. I believe the release of the i7 was the cause of this? Also Windows 8 upgrades to 10 fo free so like anon said earlier def go with that. 12gb of ram may seem like a lot right now but Fallout 4 required at least 8 so I would go higher no doubt. Best of luck!
You don't need 12gb of RAM for any video game. the difference in game quality between 8 and 12gb will be indistinguishable. AMD makes a good processor too, just because it's intel doesn't mean it's automatically better, although they have more of an affinity for being overclocked. If there's the same number of cores at the same speed, they'll be impossible to tell apart. Don't buy a laptop based on the OS, you can always change that for free.
Get the one with a SSD. makes everything much faster and it'll last a lot longer than a traditional HDD
