Here's my thought. What if it never gets fixed? Say it's "incurable". The result is the same, someone isn't attracted to other people. Should they call themselves straight? They're not attracted to the opposite gender, so that's not really accurate.
I don't really mind if it's something that might change in the future. It's true for me right now. It gives me a language to understand what I'm going through and find similar people.
