tl;dr of my situation is

>charged with class 4 felony
>plead down to class 6 undesignated
>it'll be closed as a misdemeanor after probation
Basically I'm wondering how much time I'll be doing. This is my first offense and indeed my first time ever being arrested. I'm in the army and I know I'll be kicked out but that's besides the point. I've heard from a lot of people I won't do time but I'm truly scared. I've voluntarily enrolled myself in anger management counseling and have stopped drinking since the incident. My GF wants to be with me so I'm also wondering how long it'll be before I can return home. I'm an AZfag if that helps any

Probably some hours of community service and maybe a fine. Actual jail time is unlikely, especially if you can show you're in AM program.
You're in a pretty good position actually. First time, she's not willing to press charges, volunteered for anger management/quit drinking. You might not even see jail time

My ex cut herself, deep, after we got into an argument. We were drinking, but what the fuck? She called the cops and accused me of attacking her. I was arrested, no questions asked.
I did just over a day in county. I also had a good lawyer, she recanted, but I had a piece of shit arresting officer. I was older, no record, but he just refused to drop it.
Six months of anger management and a single summary charge. That was my end result. Looking back, this was the beginning of the end of that relationship.
Don't worry about jail time, it won't happen. Have fun dealing with everyone in your life that hears about this situation though.

Our relationship became a pale imitation of what it was. Nearly all the major issues came into play shortly after this arrest; old issues returning, current ones ballooning, and a slew of new problems.
She never wanted to acknowledge what she had done. It pushed me really hard into depression, in conjunction with the legal aspect, and social stigma.

Personally, I just do the casual thing now; I was never the type, but I no longer trust. That, and I do not like the idea of literally paying for sex.
Women will ruin your career, future, at the drop of a hat, rip your heart out of your chest, and do the required mental gymnastics to rationalize, and justify it. This is more pronounced in women that have mental illness, daddy issues, feel victimized or bullied, and things of that nature.
I believe this is due to a lack of empathy, ease of distancing themselves, minimizing their actions while maximizing yours, etc...
I dislike generalizing, but these problems seem much more commonplace, and women worth the risk are few. As such, casual sex, or even escorts, are a better, or at least safer, option.
