how do you cope with a wasted education because you wanted to be a rapper when you were 14 and now regret it
Blame your parents?
They should support your dreams, but at the same time give you a foundation.
You don't just "quit school to become a rapper", like what the actual fuck. Shit, why not finish school to learn important production skills pertaining to creating music? A lot of rappers know their way around a computer, at the very least so they can synth their own beats.
In any case, you probably don't sound very old...people at age 40 get a high school education through special programs, and even OLDER people go to college. It's never too late, age is meaningless, you just need to put in some effort.

You make up for lost time. A year of well-chosen courses in a community college will make up for all you didn't get in high school, and then you'll be on even footing with everyone else.
Make an album.

This. The first step in coping is to remedy the situation. Get your GED (or equivalent) if you don't have a diploma. Then start working on what you want to do next.
You are far from alone. Ray Kroc -the man who built the McDonald's empire- didn't get his life turned around until he was 52, yet he dies a multi-gazillionaire. You're unlikely to get THAT rich, but if you make even 1% of what he did you'd still be fucking loaded, and you have a substantial head start on him even at this date.
where ya mixtape at tho
