Programmer here, be real with me guys. Is my art at a level where I could make a lewd game? I've always wanted to make one of these but have only done normal(non-lewd) games. Past people I've worked with wouldn't be down to make a game like this so I'm going about it solo. I ask because I know how important visuals are for a game like this.
These past few days I've been prototyping this idea I have, and created some models/drawings to see what the look of something I can make would be like. I create almost all my artwork in a vacuum since I do code first, but it's something I've kept up with and practiced since people you dev with sometimes just disappear on you. I don't get feedback on it like I should.
I hope this is the right thread for this. Oh and she isn't supposed to be talking to herself, I was just testing stuff.

Sure. But practice is always good. Just don't go the typical 3DCG route.
Make sure your game is worth replaying months after it's done. Your art will gradually improve, you just have to stick with it.

Despite what people will tell you, the art isn't really that important. If you're horrendously bad, that's going to be a turn off and a distraction, but even if you're able to achieve a level of cutesy semi-recognizable figures that's going to be enough.
The writing is what makes or breaks a game, and how well the plot appeals to a fetish is going to decide on if your game is well regarded or not.
From what I can see, the art is tolerable. Now find a good writer and team up with him before you go much further.

Don't stress too hard about the art, it's perfectly functional at the moment. If your game is good enough besides the art, people will play it.
If your art improves while you're working on your game, all the better.
Even if you don't, but have a game people enjoy playing getting an artist will become much easier, either in the form of a fan who might want to donate art or an artist who might want to work out a deal with you.

Yes, you can expand it for more levels, but the bulk of the work is done while writing the events. This particular dev isn't very efficient, because now he has to rewrite everything he already did. This is the kind of stuff you should code and bugtest in the beginning, before making a Patreon.

The Release Date for LS!
Hi, guys!
Finally it's a time for important news about Library Story - and it's a promised poster! And yes, the release date of the full demo version (or the first part of LS, as we wrote in the previous post) - May 22! Exactly one month from today.
What will you see in the release:
1. Some of new mechanics, including day-night changing, the system of general and random events, various achievements with special starting conditions (some of these conditions are very intriguing!), and the basis for crafting system.Of course, the old mechanics like combat system and leveling Belle's parameters will also be in the release.
2. Several bonus scenes with adult content. Some of it can be found by everybody (you should hunt more often in the thicket;)). Some other will be the award for our best in the world patrons!
3. Different local game endings! Binkertell will show in the Magic ball: is Gaston on the right path and what awaits him in the future.

4. More than a dozen medium or large events, and lots of small events! Several interactive scenes and different quests for leveling Belle's parameters.

In fact, we were going to assign earlier release date, but then decided to take additional time as a small margin for balance tuning and final testing. Because we really want to avoid delays and another changing release date as it was in the past.
We have to say that Global Test results pleased us on the one hand: all the basic mechanics are working good, and it's great! On the other hand, we found a whole bunch of small and additional pile of big bugs into the bargain :D. Besides we need to add remained content (including art for bonus scenes). So the work is in full swing!

1. Actual lewd progression. If you can see all the perviest stuff right away without working for it, it just takes all the fun out of it.
I haven't played Sim Brothel in ages, so these suggestions might not be appropriate (it's a difficult goal for a brothel sim, since sex is your entire business model):
*Customers want privacy. You have to drill secret (and expensive for some reason) peeping holes to be able to see anything at all.
*If the girls aren't slaves, you could make them start off extremely prudish (for whores). You have to train them to make them willing to give anything more dirty than handjobs.
2. A UI that isn't a fiddly piece of crap. I don't care if there is micro management as long as the game is good, but don't make the UI work against me.
*Having to manually menu-dive to make slaves who are tired/injured rest every few days is particularly enthusiasm-killing. If you're using a weekly/daily summary, add the ability to control stuff like that there (in appropriate colors to make it easy to notice):
Week 6:
"Lara fucked 5 doods and made 70 bux. She is tired/injured (15/100)." [Order her to rest.]
Week 11:
"Lara rested and regained 7 health (92/100)." [Order her to whore.] [Order her to otherjob 1.] [Order her to otherjob 2.]
3. Actual fun business sim (and girl trainer) gameplay. If I just want to look at pics, I can do that anywhere.
4. Make certain traits/attributes hard to change, so that the girls aren't interchangeable with a little training.

1. Got a different approach there: Pictures unlock with girls' levels (becoming more lewd each time). Girls level up when they're able to completely satisfy a customer of their level or higher. High level customers only come to your establishment when you have expensive buildings, famous girls, lots of advertising.
