My plan was to introduce the lore slowly. Worldbuilding is my main area of expertise, but I've been practicing writing in a more subtle style without massive info dumps because I tend to go off on autistic tangents on things like weaponry and tactics and such. Also this is an established universe I've been working on for a while and one I plan to use for non-smut things, so I have to change some of the names of species and organizations and the like.

The ONLY other answer that could possibly make sense would be for them to break the 4th wall and just admit that it's easier from a production standpoint to just put humans in prosthetics, give them human-ish cultures that humans can more easily relate to, and give them human emotions that people can more easily understand.
