There is character development and then there is forcing your characters to do and say things without any reason whatsoever. Come on, author, can't you feel that your characters do not want to do the things you made them do? They're out of character. I can accept that Dipper does and says weird shit, but Mabel is too weird too just abandon everything she was before. She even stops calling Dipper Dipstick. In 5 chapters time, had the author gone on, she would have either been a marine or sworn like one.
"PINES, you fuckstick!" Although the author would probably have gone full muhreenz with her, instead saying "PINES, YOU STUPID FUCK!"
Which is so out of character that I wish I hadn't even started reading this. Pacifica being transformed from bitch to nice girl also happens before the story even starts, which was not how the anon who linked the story sold it to us.
I do realize that I sound like a hypocrite, wishing for the complete changing of one characters attitude and keeping others exactly the way they'd been before, but this bitch to nice girl thing isn't as uncommon as you think. Setting up Dipper as the love interest gives you a very nice shot at this.
