What does /a/ think of this?

http://youtu.be/n2qNwSk1l_0
>>
>In the new film's story, a highly advanced information society is beset by global cyber-terrorism in 2016. New charismatic figures, who "inherited the DNA" of Light (previously played Tatsuya Fujiwara) and the detective L (Ken'ichi Matsuyama), emerge. The successors of the two geniuses will wage a war over six Death Notes on Earth.

>A crucial plot element will be the "Six-Note Rule": Only six Death Notes are allowed to exist at a time in the human world. Of course, the Shinigami (Gods of Death) themselves are limited to the number of Death Notes. Therefore, up to six Shinigami may exist in the human world. This rule existed in the original manga, but previous adaptations in the franchise have not used this rule thus far.

Seems interesting. Ryuuzaki is pretty handsome, and hood murderer girl is cute.

>another fucking Death Note movie
For fuck's sake.

>manga
>two anime seasons
>two live action films, one spin-off film about L

>live action drama
>now ANOTHER live action film
WHEN WILL IT END?
>>
>>140785543
when interest in the franchise dies
>>
>>140785724
To be honest I thought interest in Death Note had dried up years ago. Making the live action drama made no fucking sense.
>>
>>140785761
It's easier to use known IPs than being creative and make new ones.
>>
Teenagers born around 00's eat up anything Death Note.
>>
>>140784509
Wasn't the movie supposed to be made by Americans?
I'm glad they go for a new story. It might suck but that's better than repeating the same shit again.

>>140785543
You forgot the 2 anime recap movies.

>>140785761
Truly the Evangelion of anime.
>>
I like Misa, but why is she here? Didn't she kill herself?
>>

>Six Death Notes unleashed on the world
I actually really like the premise of six random people receiving notebooks and seeing how they'd each react differently.

Not sure how much can be done with the idea in movie format though.
>>
Is that L spin-off movie any good?
>>
>>140788992
She didn't in the live action films. Those had a different ending than in the manga; L won and Light got BTFO without Near or Mello's help.

>>140789133
They cast L perfectly, so if you liked his acting in the other two movies (i.e. if you're an L fangirl) then it's worth watching. The other people's acting is average to mediocre, the story is weak, Near is a Thai kid with normal black hair. I give it 5/10.
>>
>>140784509
Death Note Battle Royale?

I could actually see that being good but ideally they shouldn't have connected the series to Light and L specifically.

Just having six new people who got Death Notes and having them plan around eachother and fighting it out via proxy wars would be the best.
>>
>>140784544
This may turn out to be what I wanted from Death Note in the first place.
>>
>>140784544
This seems great but it means I have to watch the original movies which I'm kinda.. Well, I don't really want to.
>>
>>140784509
Are they going to make an anime/manga out of this? I can't stand 3dpd.
>>
>>140784509
Nobody over 18 and not a fujoshi should give a shit about Deathnote anymore.
>>
>>140789456
You really don't, all you need to know is that events were slightly rewritten. L fakes his own death and catches Light, instead of dying and having the fagboys do it instead. Everything else is just a cut-down version of what you've already seen.

The IP has so much potential. I'm actually sad the original team didn't make a 5 volume sequel manga or something.
>>
>>140789498
Thanks anon. Now I'm hype for this new movie.
>>
>>140789521
There is no need to. What else can be done? It has enough good things already. The novel is great and the one shot special is the only sequel death note could have needed.
>>
>>140789359
>proxy wars
It would definitely be an interesting change from the cat-and-mouse game of the original.

Six strangers all seeking out their own objective while guessing at the objectives of five other potential threats. Could be its own series.
>>
>>140789543
You shouldn't be, it looks like it'll place somewhere from trainwreck to lame.

Japanese acting is in a class all of its own, because the vast majority of people who get hired are just pretty faces.

6 death notes in a movie that'll probably be sub 2 hours? It'll be a complete clusterfuck.
>>
>>140789554
>There is no need to. What else can be done?
As in this movie: new Death Note cases. New group dynamics, different values from the users and detectives, people reacting to the legacy of Kira and what he was and wasn't. People with interesting intentions taking a side on the Death Note cases. It would be so damn interesting to read more Death Note stories, with all the rules in play there's a lot of tension a story can get. No L or Kira clones, but new character archetypes, even if they are as smart.

>It has enough good things already. The novel is great and the one shot special is the only sequel death note could have needed.
You mean the one where the new kira kills himself? That oneshot was just meh. I don't even like Near.
>>
>>140789664
Looks like a fun clusterfuck to me.
I'm just a thirsty Death Note slut, anon.

Got that vibe too.

Except instead of a helpful servant following you around you get a demon that eats all your food.
>>
>>140784625
>Ryūzaki

Why did they choose this name? I mean if you are going to be original pick something clever. Also where the fuck is Near?
>>
I thought the second Death Note movie was actually pretty good. The first was mediocre and the L one looked bad though.
>>
>>140791758
Because Ryuzaki is L's real name?
>>
>>140791791
L's real name was L Lawliet. Ryuzaki was his fake fake name.
>>
>>140791791
>>140791815

Ryuzaki is the name of a famous actor in the Death Note world. (I doubt this is the actor) However, I am glad it isn't some random letter.
