i wish there was more time in the days i guess.
but that's not really a complaint.
maybe a less shit dungeon layout, but it's not bad, just boring. like walking through a series of hallways where, occasionally, monkeys jump out of closets and hit you with sticks. and at the end of the hallway there's a really big monkey with a much bigger stick and probably issues with it's monkey sexuality or something.
it just becomes an ordeal of "guess i'll go on til i run out of SP."
the games aren't bad but there's room for improvement.
if the main idea is good, and it is, then little tweaks just make things better.

there could be a bigger balance. it's two games in one:
a social sim and a dungeon crawler.
the sim is good but is so good that the dungeon part of the game, arguably the meat and potatoes, feels lackluster in comparison.
i should WANT to fuck up shadows and get treasure, not feel like it's just some homework i have to do by the end of the endgame week in order to progress the story.
i see the intention of it putting a stress on players and motivate them to complete the dungeon, but if you're not shit most of them can be cleared in about two good trips into the tv.
again, not a bad game by any means, i go to SMT for the grindy asswhipping and persona for the "tfw you will never have a crew like this" self torture.
i have high hopes for persona 5.
i can honestly say i think there's more that can go right than wrong.

With Persona I find it very hard to separate setting and atmosphere, both are so key to the other in its presentation. 3 knocked it out of the park with what should be dark and edgy but somehow comes off as really cool and modern even today, while 4 wanted to be fun and enjoyable with some unsettling undercurrents.

The new mechanics are P4's combat system, which makes it too easy. Full 3D models and proper cutscenes rather than just dialogue describing things is the way to go, especially with how much personality Atlus squeeze out of them. It's a nice way to make replaying it more interesting, though.

Nothing's paticularly, wrong. ATLUS is in still in the process of milking the shit out of P4, when P4 is not paticularly good. It's not bad either, its a decent JRPG that fixes some problems from previous games, but plot and characters are just terrible compared to other ATLUS games. Also the animes are terrible.

Kanji definitely sounds a lot better when voiced by Troy Baker (as in the original Persona 4) but the new dude sounds brety gud too. Did an alright job in the anime (and even then, Troy Baker voiced Kanji until Episode 12 before the new guy took over).
Yukiko's voice sounds a little more lively in PQ than it does in 4 (where she sounds bored most of the time, but I guesssss it's understandable from a story standpoint).
And Chie's voice is perfect. Her original voice from the PS2 release of Persona 4 is horrible. There are actually people who defend it. Disgusting.best waifu tho

Ken is just generic shonen. Which is fine, especially compared to his English voice, but it wasn't anything to write home about.
Meanwhile, Junpei sounds fucking wrong in Japanese. He's got original P4 Chie syndrome--he sounds way too old for the role, and he doesn't fit the character's personality either. He sounds like a slick TV comedian instead of a high schooler trying to be funny to disguise his insecurities.

I think it was pretty easily the best scene in the game.In the bad ending, all of the cards are reversed:
The Fool is, well, foolish and reckless.
The Magician is immature and backs a poor plan out of haste.
The Emperor tries to impose his will on the others and control the outcome.
The Empress lets the others decide for her, since he's too dependent to think for herself.
The Lover is so upset at everyone fighting that she'll agree to whatever brings harmony back to the group.
The Chariot is directionless, with nowhere to channel her emotions.
Wheel of Fortune is influenced into making a wrong decision by factors outside of her control. Bad luck.
And of course, in the Bad Ending, the Star gives in to despair and leaves for good, Justice dies unfairly, and the Hierophant approves of you going outside the system to punish Namatame.
Subtle but powerful, in my opinion.

Junpei's a kid who never succeeded at anything in life. He gets shit grades and when he comes home his alcoholic daddy beats him on the head with beer bottles. He had zero self worth.
He meets this shitty emo kid and since he had a hard time being the new kid, befriends him.
Then one day he gets this special power, that finally sets him apart. He can finally do something that has some meaning. Then he finds out the emo kid also has this power. When they go into battle together, emo kid outclasses him in every way, no matter how hard he tries. Emo kid also pulls all the bitches, manages to talk to everyone and becomes the star of the sports team he joins.
So yes Junpei has every reason to be jealous. feMC made it interesting since it added the idea that Junpei wanted to protect her, but I prefer the man's route

It definitely fits his character to be jealous, just that the way they wrote it feels very sudden and forced. In FeMC's route he gets immediately uppity when FeMC is put in charge instead of him and gets slapped down very publicly by Mitsuru.
