It's not going to be a popular opinion, but Gundam was kind of in the LOL SO RANDOM section in Episode 1. Everybody else sort of interacted with each other, but he really does just seem to pop up and spout nonsense that nobody even reacts to. He didn't even get a response after his big ham introduction, so you didn't get to see Chisa force, convince, or bond with him like everybody else.
The fact that Saionji is one of the "good kids" who actually bothers going to class is kind of surprising though and gives her a rare plus point.
