Puberty usually hits girls around 10-12. I think that's too old for them to be bathing with their moms. Really I think by the time they enter school it needs to end. The real problem they face is bullying. If a girl accidentally lets it slip that she bathes with her mom everyday, that's like admitting she still wets the bed.

Bathing together is definitely something kids enjoy, and I think it's good for parents to "keep an eye" on how their kid is developing for a while as well. When they're a baby you get a good look at everything, but once a kid is potty trained, you can't really take a good look "down there" and make sure nothing weird is going on. Kids get really self conscious around puberty and if something was going on there, they might not tell their parents. Think about the boys with phimosis or whatever, if their dads would take a bath with them and make sure it's all working, they might be able to get treatment faster.
But you also have to manage the societal aspect of it all. If your kid lets it slip you take baths with him/her then you could be getting a nasty visit from CPS after some bitch helicopter mom called since she thought it was "unhealthy".
