But if I had to point out actual insights I've had for reading the series few times over they'd be;
The world is interesting and the international stage had its potential but sadly author wasted that by making everyone and part of the japanese "decision" makers complete monkeys.
I can only pray India/Mexico/USSR2/Europes and the rest of Sages outside of the Dahan monkey are more competent, along with the Yotsuba sponsor(s).
GAA was the worst of in this and I doubted they could go lower than NHD which was set up as the first "obstacle". But author managed to do just that, faceless masses and not even coherent public "face" are given to GAA at any point outside of boogeymen.
The only downright horrible aspect in the original novel is how out of touch the author is writing "growing relationships" that start slowly and endure or change by the time to form something decent.

Miyuki is the biggest example. She's the key to all this. If she was even remotely likeable the series would be greatly improved, because as it is the only real personal motivation the protagonist has is tied up in a character that is abjectly loathsome.

USNA is pretty disappointing too. Lina is a spaghetti-spiller in the end who ends up contacting Tatsuya and Miyuki to give them classified details about Black Sage and USNA's plan in Japan to catch him. The USNA agents supposed to slow down the TMC task force end up becoming pools of blood and surrendering until Canopus detonates to cover up evidence of being in Japan. Canopus kills Black Sage and that's about the most important thing they have done. What is USNA going to do next, send Lina again to kill Tatsuya, Masaki and Katsuto because they saw USNA in Nippon? We all know that went splendidly the first time.

Even Tats himself doubts the veracity of him possibly dying outside of old age (or how his grandfather kicked the bucket) but I doubt there would be a conflict or villain enough to put his regrowth into test.

For now they're scared about the unknowns of Yotsuba and what it means to the siblings but since seemingly their families don't care (as of what's translated) they decide to stick to them as friends and trust the siblings enough that they don't land in shit due the shadow side of Yotsuba.
