As somebody that actually is a fan of X-Men, this is nothing at all like X-Men other than the fact it is about superhumans attending a prestiguous school for people with superpowers. It is missing the key elements that makes X-Men what it is, ie it is missing the xenophobia and the attempted genocide every other story arc that is the heart and soul of X-Men.

He hardly gets enough down time as it is, the academy has him on training camps or other shit 90% of the time, and the other 10% he's recuperating from some injury. There's no real need to practice on his own when he knows he's gonna get instruction from pro heroes the very next day
