After they leave on the train it gets fucked up and most of the fodder crew get kabane'd. The show then focuses on the main characters making it to the shogun's castle/city/train station whatever on foot and what struggles they face on the way there. Also get rid of titans and zombie lazer beams

I always liked kabaneri. Even after biba showed up I liked it, even though it could've been better without him. I even liked that episode where Ikoma got his hand blown off, only to come to /a/ and see that everyone was shitting on it. That episode had beautiful art and pretty cool action.

Ayame rejects Biba's offer to escort the Koutetsujou, and instead another minor cour-end situation is propped up in the next 3 episodes, giving Kurusu and Ikoma slowly increase their powelevel. Biba is then developed as 2nd cour main villain. This prevents the Biba scenario feeling rushed up, and helps explain why Kurusu suddenly went from "Better than average swordsman" to "Can solo a kabane horde" tier
