From the perspective of someone who hasn't read the manga yet, you guys have to understand that its extremely slow and directionless compared to literally any previous part
We're 15 episodes in and we don't even know what the fuck we're doing here. Parts 1 and 2 would've been over, and at least in part 3 we had a plot within the first few episodes

He's never warning Josuke about how pretty much anybody could be an enemy sutando user. Instead, we just go through the same surprise bullshit we saw already in stardust crusaders, except its not a surprise to the audience anymore.
Basically Josuke is an imperfect Jotaro, both redundant and weaker.
Don't get me wrong though I hope it 180s and Josuke becomes the man, I'm just telling you why people who haven't read the manga don't like him. Anime is slower and we've had to wait 15 weeks to see pretty much nothing happen.

To be honest, Josuke just perpetually seems 'checked out' of scenes most of the time.
Like in any given scene, shit will be going the fuck down and Josuke is just kind of in the background like staring off like "Aw man is that a porsche that just drove by... Nice"
Furthermore, his stand seems to just be a carbon copy of Star Platinum with a healing ability tacked on. Design wise he's just Jotaru 2.0 except shittier.
Joseph Joestar is still hands down my favourite character, because he is just way more engaged in the plot itself. Hell even as an old man he has already managed to outshine Josuke when he sliced open his wrist to save some dumbass baby.
Joseph has always been an MC that wins not by just being stronger than his opponents, but by outsmarting them in battle and being one step ahead.
Jotaru was also pretty good about that, but he lost some points with me for being all edgy and shit, which honestly is not that great imo.
Josuke isn't the best halves of Joseph+Jotaru... he's the worst halves.
He's an idiot who can't control his emotions, and he's edgy as fuck and looks like a 13 year old teen girls attempt at drawing a dream boy.
There is nothing positive about him that I have seen yet.

That's a good point, he does seem pretty balanced. But then, he's also the protag in the most 'normal' of circumstances (at least compared to what the others go through), down to his relationship with his mother. No reason to bash the others though, it's not a bad thing for them to excel in certain areas. They also have more presence than Josuke, which is kinda okay because Part IV calls for other characters to get spotlight.

I like Jonathan more than most fans as well. He's not really a deep or interesting character, but his raw purity works well for the kind of gothic epic that Araki was trying to tell. I think he would work terribly in almost any other kind of story, but he seemed well suited to the one he was in.

Also, if you have watched anime or read manga enough to at least be vaguely aware of common tropes or how to identify flags, that scene would've rung hundreds of bells. It's common enough of a theory that this episode even went out of its way to handle it with a sense of mystery rather than get some voice actor for the dude too. Just because it wasn't written out in bold for you to read doesn't mean that the implications weren't laid out. I never see hate for Josuke, but he does have things that suck about him. His personality/appearance completely changes from his introduction. He's set up to be this super nice boy with a temper, but he acts like a total shit bird about halfway through when he starts trying to lie, cheat, steal and ends up burning down Rohan's house. Still one of the best Jojo's. And fuck you, Jonathan is a god damn legend.

Part 1 Dio IS the best villain. He's literally the only villain that had a meaningful relationship and rivalry with the hero. He's in it right from the get go and doesn't waste time fucking shit up. He's interesting from the very first page to the last and isn't just a final boss that does fuck all for 90% of the part.

Jonathan had more depth than most Jojo's. He grows more in the first few chapters than any other Jojo in entire parts. Jonathan went from a pampered brat who fell into self pity as soon as he was confronted with some actual hardship. It wasn't until Dio went one step too far by kissing Erina that Jojo found the courage and determination to stand up to his tormentor. He then goes on to develop a friendship with his rival, before things turn back to animosity and then back again into a "bizarre" sense of kinship. The 'Jonathan is boring' meme is retarded, perpetuated only by those shallow enough to misconstrue self pity and assholery for depth.*Cough*Johnny fags*Cough*

Pucci had no personal vendetta against Jolyne. He was involved from the start yes, but it wasn't personal. She was just a spanner in the works to him, which is pretty much every villain/hero dynamic in Jojo. That said, I do appreciate Pucci gets shit done right from the get go. He is under appreciated.

Joey is stronger than Josuke with just the ripple. Imagine if he could use Hermit Purple during Stardust Crusaders? He'd be on some other, godlike level. Because he seems like a nice guy at first but then he completely deforms a regular guy's face (even if he was a bully, but Josuke didn't care about that but his hair). Then he punches through a woman he's trying to rescue just because, even though she totally felt it. But ok, whatever, le't say he doesn't care about strangers. He was insensitive as fuck after saving Okuyasu from RHCP while the guy was clearly emotionally devasted and instead went to talk so casually with Jotaro without worrying about his friend.
He's a legit cunt who doesn't act like that for the most part. He really comes off as sort of uncanny valley-ish to me. No other Jojo felt like this before, they had their personalities and acted on that. Jonathan was a spoiled kid who matured into a gentleman, Joseph was a charismatic son of a bitch, Jotaro was autistic. But Josuke looks like a person who hides his selfishness.

Stardust has the advantage that it felt like with every new enemy defeated they were closer to Dio, because Dio was the goal. So far there's just random Stand users with nothing to do witht the plot, other than "this guy is creating stand users". The arrow is also pretty damn stupid to be honest.
Dude i can't wait to see the animal stand battle in the near future.
that'll be a very highlight of this part besides the antagonist, seriously that's the most bizzare battle in the whole part, both mortal and more dangerous than most of the citizen stand user's faggotry
