Considering the fact that Hanji will read the letter first I'm going to assume the letter may not be thata personal-as in it won't get too deep into "love letter" territory. It may even contain useful information and would finally tie together Ilse's omake to who Ymir really is.
The only qiestion is if Ymir has plot armor because of her past or if she's dead and her backstory will barely have any importance to the overall plot.
