It depends. Index 3 would start getting into confusing as shit territory, and if it's handled badly it could potentially flop really bad.
Railgun has better odds, depending on what they decide to adapt. Sticking to the theme of the Sister's Arc would probably do best. Doing something like Liberal Arts City, something else (maybe filler, maybe Volume 8), then the Sports Festival might go well. It has Misaki and Gunha in particular after all, which are pretty hype characters. Plus Touma's in top form in that arc as far as likeability goes.

They might actually be able to do it with Index since Kamachi releases a volume every 4 months or so (though they'd need at least 6 volumes a season I imagine so it'd still be every two years), but most LNs don't release in that short a time frame so it wouldn't work.

Something about the idea of the series ending feels so wrong, like his two main series would be Heavy Object and Blood Sign after that. That's why I feel like if he ends Touma's story, he just might pick up where he left off with someone else.

I'm trending along at a good pace on the novels but I have to ask, what was the point of Touma losing his memories? Also, just how much vital information did he know before losing them? It seems the whole memory loss was just really stupid and was basically forgotten. However, keep in mind I'm only on volume 15 of the novels. Maybe it plays a better role later on.

It's the most "kamachi" series outside ASS, which he's never gonna release another volume of.
It's basically him going wild and writing whatever he feels like and there's no a single bad or boring volume of HO after the first 3.

Makes me wonder if they'll give it another chance for a S2. Depending on how they handle volume 5 we might reach volume 7 and the MIB andMyonri, which would be the a top tier final arc for any anime to have.
If you think about Haruue seems like she should be the main character for an anime like this. No substance in her power basically weak and shy but determined. It's sort of like a magical girl anime where she'd start out weak and learn to be strong by protecting her friends and eventually becoming one of the strongest characters in the series. She also eats a lot which is a good sign of strength in an anime character, just think about it.

What do all these characters have in common? They eat tons of food and I don't know specifically what it is but when she shows up in a scene everything seems like it's going to be okay especially when she showed up in with the robot. She seemed so confident which is a huge plus. I didn't see that confidence anywhere else in the series short of accel and his was sort of a smug kind of confidence where as hers was more of the kind you'd see from a hero or something. Kind of the same feeling you get when the main character comes to save the day in an anime and totally kicks ass. She's great!
