Hey /djt/ I tried reading stuff but I had huge problems, I never knew where the words end and where they start.
What caused the problems were kana only words in between sentences, stuff like から、だから、けど、だけど、ので、なので、んで、しかも stuff like that.
I couldn't tell where the conjugated word ended and where one of these kana words started.

What do? I already read a grammar book, but it didn't help me much obviously, so I guess I have to read Tae Kim or something?

It's weird but I really started to like Kanji, since they show me where words start and end.

I can understand most of the words he's saying but I can't understand much of the thing as a whole as always, it happens with anime too.

At least at the end I think I got him telling her she was a 迷惑 to society, calling her all sorts of "trash", that she got no friends, and that her mom and dad abandoned her.
I didn't get the 顎 thing though, what was he telling her about that?

>It's how languages work bro some things sound wrong and some sound right with no particular rhyme or reason for it
there is a reason why "best recommendation" sounds weird and top doesn't
a recommendation being top or number one makes sense because they elicit it coming before all other recommendations he might give. "best" sounds like you're describing the quality of the recommendation itself, which can make sense in a different context e.g. "the guy at the bookstore said i should read 'i am a hero' and i ended up loving it. it's the best recommendation i've ever gotten."

Music is a serious "don't think feel" thing. You'll just have to take that for granted and listen to it rather than trying to pick apart its grammar. Song artists like to stretch the language's grammar a bit.
Just look at English lyrics if you want an idea of how broken and abstract it can be. Translation is a no-go.

I just saw 石に漱ぎ流れに枕す today and thought the backstory was pretty funny.

If you had a mermaid girlfriend you'd want the top half to be human and bottom fish right? Top fish bottom human is too weird. Top human bottom fish also entails that she can't walk and is confined to the ocean, but I guess it's better than the other orientation

look at grammar as the main foundation of your japanese skill, grinding vocab is just a way to speed up your acquisition of it through reading

don't make the mistake of thinking learning vocab=learning japanese
at the end of the day a simple dictionary will let you understand any single word, but good luck finding a dictionary to let you understand how to split the clauses in a given complex sentence

>how do I memorize the meanings
see 経験
flip card over
see "けいけん - experience"
memorize that
move on

I have to remember that the continuative interrupts that sentence and the verb modifies what comes after it.

For example

I know that なる>部分

the line between a verb that ends in -i and a verb that ends in -u really can't get any more clear
like >>143628139 said, they're literally the same as adjectives

you've just got to come across them more and then you'll get better at interpreting them right the first time around
