mpc-be has better resizing algorhythms (catmull-rom/spline) than mpchc, and the default ffmpeg codecs in mpc-be are outdated. noone should use ffmpeg to decode in 2016. the ffdshow development stopped in 2014

Ofc, in some situations it looks bad but the artifact masking is quite good and if you switch to the "animation mode" it looks very good in most of the time. If you choose the "movie mode" it looks horrible from anime to anime.
