The thing is, Miyazaki got extremely repetitive near the end. Porco Rosso, Chihiro, Laputa, Totoro were all great, but then it became always about kids and muh nature. So it was just pretty things to look at, no substance since it was always the same shit. Same with Yamada: nice things to look/listen at, nothing else.
Hence the "newfag" part: if you can't see farther than the nice things on the surface, to the point that you'd define Yamada's series as "outstanding", you clearly lack experience and/or critical thinking. I'm not saying it's shit by any means, but "outstanding" may be a bit too much.

All of the Keions have very developed personalities, even the side characters. Keion itself was made with realism in mind.
Tamako Love Story is about Tamako being afraid of everything changing. Tamako herself is a very well-written character, and the personalities around her are very well thought out

Just because it's her goal doesn't mean she actually reaches it on a constant basis. A goal is something you strive to achieve, and once again K-On is clearly not a success in that regard.
The keions live in an idealized city (just look at the otaku pilgrimages), go to an idealized all-girls school, all the girls are idealized and cute, have cute quirks and cute behaviors. I could go on and on, they also adot that fucking turtle, and Mugi is fuckingh ripped, pic related.
