Let's have a manga thread, shall we?

What ongoing series are you following, and which are your favorite?

Any older series you finished recently?
>>
I pretty much stopped reading manga since mangatraders went down and batoto had this weird sign up shit it's pushing.
>>
>it's a manga general thread
Why don't you just fucking talk about a specific manga chapter you fucking /co/ crossboarders
>>
>>143382024
I've always used kissmanga over batoto for ongoing stuff anyways, same quality resolutions and more series available.

For finished series just download the complete pack off nyaa.
>>
What happened to Hinamatsuri?
>>
>>143382072
Wondering the same thing. What pushes people to make this kind of generic catch-all threads which in the end always turn into a permanent 24/7 thread.
>>
I'm always looking for more sickeningly sweet cute love shit to read. Just finished up Itoshi no Kana and moving on to Taiyou no Ie

Use kissmanga

Reading a bunch of ongoing shit, but I recently began Lucifer and the biscuit hammer. I'm enjoying it although I think the earlier chapters were weak story wise.
>>
I used to read Bloody Monday a long ass time ago and loved it. Now I wanna re-read what I already read and finish what I haven't but it's a lot since I'm reading a bunch of different manga right now, a lot of them ongoing and weekly.
>>

I'd been hesitant on reading Golden Kamuy because of the digital art, but just caught up with it and it's been a pleasantly comfy mix of Ainu culture and treasure hunting shenanigans.

Anyone know how factually accurate this page is regarding animals retracing their tracks?
>>
Every manga i've used to read went to hiatus or has ridiculously long release dates. On the other hand stupid shit like tomo chan or run of the mill yaoi shit is getting releases every day.
>>
Caught up to Bleach and JoJo, not reading anything else
>>
>>143382163
Because you assholes never bother to reply specific threads. If I were to post an Umi no Cradle chapter, how many of you would reply to it?
>>
>>143381977
Right now I'm not following too many. I follow Bleach because I have to finish it at this point.

I'm also reading Shoukoku no Altair which is a fantasy manga set in a fictional Turkish struggling against a much stronger Anglo-Saxon empire through diplomacy and espionage. Pretty cool stuff.

Yume no Shizuku, Ougon no Torikago is a manga I started recently that follows the famous Ottoman sultana Roxelana. The harem setting provides a unique setting for romance and some intrigue and politics as well.

Also read Otoyomegatari which is easily my favorite of the ones I'm following. I also picked up Kingdom some time ago and while I enjoyed it I dropped it for some reason after the first arc. I'll pick it up again eventually.
>>
>>143382163
I've tried to make threads one specific manga and they're usually DOA.

>>143381977
I finished this about a week ago and really enjoyed it, shit was really entertaining and thought provoking. The ending confused me though. Why?
>>
>>143382163
They never turn into a permanent 24/7 thread and people do these because it allows discussion on several manga at the same time, especially the more obscure ones that would die immediately with a thread of their own.
>>
Finished Umi no Misaki and Koe no Katachi the other day

UnM was just okay, the MC's relationships with the three girls were all fleshed out enough and it has the novelty of actually having the MC marry everyone which is uncommon for a harem series I guess. Sensei was best girl.
KnK was cute and had some interesting stuff going on, I dunno why but I was expecting something more "powerful" than what I got though. While I enjoyed it I probably won't bother with the anime it's getting, I wasn't that enamored with it really.

Reading New Grappler Baki at the moment (having watched the anime adaptation of the first series ages ago), it's nutty as fuck.
>>
>>143386012
I had a phase where I only wanted to read martial arts manga but even then I never took to Grappler Baki for some reason. Something about the art and the way its executed in general turns me off.
>>
>>143386139
It's definitely not for everyone. Also some of these scanlations aren't great which doesn't help.

Best way to describe it is that it's like the JJBA of martial arts manga, and I'm talking early JJBA here.
>>
File: Otoyomegatari.full.1695012.jpg (2 MB, 1200x1661) Image search: [Google]
Otoyomegatari.full.1695012.jpg
2 MB, 1200x1661
What are some good romance manga centered around more uncommon forms of romance?

Otoymegatari is probably my favorite example. Main couple is a 12 year old boy married off to a 20 year old woman and it works much better than I thought it would. Also has polygamy later too.

Yume no Shizuku, Ougon no Torikago centers around a literal harem in the Ottoman Palace so it has some interesting elements to it. The way the MC, Roxelana, slowly adapts and accepts her new reality as a concubine and all the various realities that come with it is neat.
>>
>>143386321
I haven't read it but Mahoutsukai no Yome sounds like the sorta thing you're looking for perhaps
>>
>>143382230
I have something for you then, anon.
>>
>>143381977
I read Gan-Kon.

It was a fun shonen series.

The premise is hard to explain without sounding stupid, but it's about a guy who wants a waifu badly enough that a god grants his wish and the god becomes his waifu.

But for the god to maintain her existence, he must battle against other people who have had their wishes granted, deriving power from their wishes.
>>
Scanlatorfag here. Manga is literally dead and there's nothing good coming out from Japan for years. After the end of ongoing series there'll be only moeshit and yaoi left in the market. Scan teams are dropping the scene one by one except for fujoshit.
>>
>>143386790

BNHA is the best thing that has come out since NNT.
>>
>>143386790
This is true. I can't believe how saturated the manga industry now with shitty yaoi and pointless moeshit

87 clockers. it was confusing in the beginning but it really gets going. very funny.
also found out later that it's made by the author of nodame. i did think the art seemed familiar.
>>
>>143386932
Things are going downhill since 2007. But it's actually having it's worst in nowadays. Kakegurui prequel and that Ainu trivia crack manga are the only good things which has been released around these times. I blame lazy scan teams who release nothing but doujin and fujoshit for it.
>>

I don't ask recs, I give recs, and here's one. You're coping with a dying genre. Leave it while you're still can.

Nigga, I've probably read more manga than everone in this thread. If you're ok with yaoi and moeshit, then it's ok, but the rest is having a decline. You can't fucking deny that.
>>
>>143387173
I don't mind recommending you a couple series (ontop of some good shit already mentioned in this thread) if you want. I absolutely disagree with you about manga dying (scanlation efforts dying is something you can argue though, sure)

My guess is that Batoto added that because the numbers of automatic downloads increased substantially after MT went down.

It didn't help much, cause I changed a few bits here and there on my script and I sorta mass download anyway. (It's not perfect though)
If anyone knows how to get their random code numbers each chapter I'm interested...

Witch Hunter volume 16 cover.jpg
202 KB, 827x1258
I used to read Witch Hunter. It had some cool ideas and I liked the art and the setting and overall it was a decent action adventure fantasy series. Also I remember liking the fan service and that's not usually something I look for in a manga(actually I think it was a manwa). I dropped it a while ago way back when I happened to drop a bunch of manga I was following because I was a bit burnt out on the medium but I always thought I should pick it up again

Anyone else read it? Does it hold up or overstay its welcome?

>I read it too but it's a huge clusterfuck right now.
What a shame, I thought the premise was good and I liked what I read of it at the time, which admittedly was a really long time ago.

>>143390172
I always thought it reminded me more of Bleach because of the weird and exaggerated fashion and something about the art reminded me of Kubo's style.

I don't think you can read Peerless before reading Sakigake Otokojuku since everyone in it and every big moment in it is just a rehash of existing characters and moment in SO. It's outrageously over the top. Miyashita is a such a bad, and at the same time good, mangaka.

I remember reading the first few chapters and I wasn't too impressed but I think at that point I wasn't looking for something as episodic as it seemed initially. Are there any reoccurring characters or plot lines at all?
>>
>>143392037
A few recurring characters and the story is built around little arcs, so there is clear plot progression. It's really nice, the anime is also good but I prefer the manga because it shows that the MC, despite being basically a god tier bartender, still has things to learn from his seniors and peers. In the anime he's too perfect.

Have you read Mahou Tsukai no Yome? Only thing that comes to mind for me besides what you said. May not be loli enough.

I felt pretty let-down by Spirit Circle's last couple arcs. The first few/concept were so interesting...
>>
>>143389139
Majo no Shizou was good, but I would have preferred for it to not have a proper conclusion like it had, or better said, not one that took so much time.
Episodic stories from the witch in search for her heart until she finds it in the last chapter would have been better in my opinion. The episodic chapters were better than the main plot.

What else there is for loli fantasy? I love it as well but haven't seen much about it.
