Why do people hate anime just because it's more accessible? I've seen a few hundred shows but those nine are my favorite, not really because of any objective perception of quality but just because I happened to enjoy them more than any others. Do people really feel like a show's obscurity makes it more enjoyable? Do shows need a high barrier of entry to be good for you?
Also, more importantly, a question on 3x3s in general: when you create a 3x3, are you doing so based on what shows you think are objectively best, or what shows you enjoyed the most regardless of perceived quality? For me it's the latter; I've definitely seen shows that I'd call objectively better than Black Rock Shooter, for example, but I had such a great time with it that I'd call it a favorite.

Also, what I think is important to note about Digibro's video isn't that he's bashing the shows. He notes that every show he mentions is a good show.
The point is that it seems like a lot of people aren't actually making 3x3s of shows they liked the best; people are trying to make themselves seem more tasteful and intellectual by putting shows on their 3x3s that are more obscure or out of line with the mainstream. Most of my favorites are entry-level, and I don't really give a shit. Some shows are popular because they're lowest-common-denominator shit, and some are popular because they're actually pretty good. I like to believe my shows are the latter, but who knows? There are just as many people who hate them, so whatever.
3x3 is a personal choice geeeez... Why are people so judgmental....

I'd imagine it's a sign that someone probably hasn't seen too many shows, if someone comes and plops a 3x3 with mal's top nine, not only would it be exclusively gintama list, it'd also bring into question how much someone has actually seen.
Then again I post in these threads like once every two months so what do I know.

It's clear he was severely distressed by the people who criticized his tastes but why can't he deal with it like a proper adult? Is he just bad at accepting rejection? Yeah, but I'm wondering why. He did mention his parents were really strong on teaching him to be himself. I think that's fine but parents should also show the other side and make their child learn that you have to also be willing to accept that others will not always be supportive or like you just because of that.
